My sister was reading a book titled Teenage Love.
So suddenly, I decided to natter about it. Natter, typing it out and there's actually no particular purpose. Not the book but the title instead.
Before becoming a teenager, the definition of love to you would probably be about the bond between mothers and fathers, parents and children or even sometimes you would even just stare blankly at the someone who asked you that particular question. But now, as a teenager, you could probably answer a few lines to it.
It’s kind of the same old thing over and over again. First you will eye on him/her that really somehow takes you off your feet. How did he/her manage to do that? Well, easy, by having a good face. Yeah, first impressions do counts. This is simply called lust. Having very strong feelings towards a special someone to touch and just hold him/her. Then after having these feelings, you will then try your hardest to get to know that someone. You will come out with more than 10 ways. One of which you will try to talk to him/her or maybe even just a simple smile but having these 10 ways, none will be successful because you are just too shy. Yeah, shyness is the most un-coolest thing to be having when you’re a teenager. If only there would be an antidote to erase this adjective off the chart.
But slowly this shyness in you will disappear, and I really don’t know how it does but it just did. So you will start becoming friends and within weeks the lust feelings will change to love. Well, it changed too fast to love. It should have slowly change to like first then love but it skipped and that’s what you call a teenage love is. It happened too fast, without warning. You will feel as though he/she is the one. The only one that will be in your life till the end. The one that will be with you forever and ever. So you’d tell him/her that you can’t let him/her go cause he/she is the only reason that your heart beats double the beat it should be beating. Then you will get into a relationship and without knowing it, you will break the bond without even noticing it. Yeah, teenage love, it happened without reasons. And the cycle will continue by having strong feelings towards somebody else.
But if the shyness in you will not disappear, you will start having secret feelings towards him/her. You will wish and hoping to ride the same bus when going to school in the morning, hoping to see him/her during recess, ride the same bus when going home, hoping to see him/her when you popped your head out of the window early in the morning and late at night or maybe just to see him while you are walking down the street at night. You might even know and take note of his/her schedule of when he/she will be going out of the house so that you could just see his/her face. Yeah, this sound like a stalker but that is just what you really wanted to do when having all those strong feelings that you’re having for that special someone.
These feelings that you’re having will eventually continue because you really want to know him/her but you just can’t seem to do it. So it’ll be kept a secret for a long time. And when you found out that he/she is in a relationship with someone else, you’ll feel that your heart’s been shattered into million and billion and zillion of bits and pieces. This is the most sucky part of teenage love. You’ll feel jealous and you just know you can’t do anything. So you have to suffer in silence in the dark all alone. So, you still keep those secret feelings deep within in you.
But sometimes it’s not the shyness that gets in the way. It’s just a rule not to be with that guy/girl that you totally have strong feelings for. Well, the first few paragraphs on top are about teenage love but this paragraph however, is about life. How, life is unfair all the times. It’s just the way life is, I guess. Because, I guess, if life’s fair, wouldn’t it be mundane. There wouldn’t be any wave for you to fight and win over with. There wouldn’t be obstacles for you to go through and without them, you wouldn’t be a strong person.
However, even though you know life has to be unfair, you always wanted it to go on as smooth as it can. Because you always wanted a fairytale of you own. In fairy tales, there would always be ‘and they lived, happily ever after. The end.’ And yes, deep within you really want this to happen. So even though you tried so hard to look at the brighter side of life, there will always be this one big BUT.
